Access to Chapel House Lane is unaffected and can be accessed via Puddington Lane from the Chester High Road - Road works appear to be in the village of Puddington. Diversion signs are at both ends of Puddington Lane Burton and Puddington.

Sorry - more politics! (I’ll post something more positively tomorrow). But…you need to be aware of this. The true cruelty of the vote this week on removing the Winter Fuel Payment from the majority of pensioners is only now coming to light. Cheshire West Labour MPs, including Samantha Dixon in Chester North and Neston, voted for this. There were cheers in the House of Commons when the division (vote) result was announced. Shameful.

Response to Freedom of Information request shows:

Labour is taking away the Winter Fuel Payment from 71% of pensioners with a disability and 83% of over 80’s.

85% of women and 91% of men currently receiving WFP will lose it.

12 million pensioners currently receive WFP and this will drop by over 10 million to just 1.7million in year 1.

Excellent that this is sorted.

A small step in the right direction...during periods of even modest rainfall, standing water has developed at the 'Pesto end' of Shotwick Lane. This was almost certainly the result of chronically blocked drainage which has been reported several times for attention by CWaC (most recently listed below). All being well this is now sorted - such a relatively simple job - but we'll have to see when it rains...
